Have you ever heard of the term bishop score? If you are planning to be induced a bishop score is a pre-labor scoring system to assist in predicting whether an induction will be successful. It has also been used to assess the likelihood of spontaneous preterm delivery. A bishop score includes: how dilated your cervix is, how effaced your cervix is, what station your baby is at, the consistency of your cervix (i.e. firm or soft) and what position your baby is in. If your bishop score is 8 or greater your cervix is said to be ripe or favorable for a successful induction with a vaginal delivery. If your score is 6 or less the chance of having a vaginal delivery and successful induction is low. https://perinatology.com/calculators/Bishop%20Score%20Calculator.htm
